How NFCeez counts views, taps and clicks
What counts as a view, NFC tap, QR scan and link click, why numbers can differ, and what data NFCeez stores for this.
Reach only counts what really happens on your Smart Page. Here's how each figure comes about. You'll find the same explanations in the app under Home›Reach, in the "Since the start" tile, at How we count.
What is counted
- "Views": every time your Smart Page is opened. Reloading the page counts as a new view.
- "NFC taps" and "QR scans": views through your connected products. Scans of the QR code from Share are "QR scans" too. They count once the guest stays on the page for at least five seconds.
- "Via links": views through your link rather than a product or a QR code, for example from Instagram, WhatsApp or typed in.
- "Link clicks": taps on buttons of your page, such as Call, Directions or Review.
- "Tap something": the share of visits in which the guest tapped at least one button.
- "Devices": iPhone and iPad, Android, Computer or Other. The tile appears from five visits with a recognised device.
What isn't counted
- The Preview in the app. But if you open your page in the browser, for example with Open under Share, it counts like a normal view.
Privacy
Your Smart Page sets no cookies and stores nothing on your guests' devices. Only totals are counted; individual guests can't be identified. Search words from your menu only appear once they came up in at least three different visits.
Short texts and insights
- The app calculates "Key takeaways" from your numbers for the last eight weeks, see Key takeaways.
- "Where they come from" has a short sentence. If it says "AI · in short", an AI wrote it from your totals; with "In short" it's a fixed sentence from the app.
Common questions
I tapped my sticker, but the number doesn't go up. A tap only counts once the page stays open for at least five seconds. Anyone who closes it straight away isn't counted as an NFC tap. Pull Reach down afterwards to refresh it.
Why do the numbers under "Links" differ from Reach? Under each link you always see the last 30 days. In Reach, the period you chose at the top applies.
